Huge crowds for Farmers Market
May 19, 2008 -
“This is awesome.” “I’m so excited.” “Maaaajor cool!”
The adjectives were flying last Saturday morning as the first Farmers Market of the year opened to rave reviews.
Crowds filled the street within minutes after the market opened at 9 a.m. 22 stalls lined Diablo Street between Center and Main.
“It was wall to wall people,” said city of Clayton’s Laura Hoffmeister.” Elbow room only.”

Sgt. Tim O’Hara, a 19-year veteran of the Clayton Police Department, will retire on May 30. A high-speed collision on May 30 last year effectively ended his long career.
